Neighborhood

Walcha was the first area to be discovered in the New England region. It was on the route taken by the explorer John Oxley and reached on 8th September, 1818. He named the Apsley River after the Secretary of State for the colonies, Lord Apsley. Surrounded by spectacular national parks threaded with wild rivers and tumbling waterfalls, Walcha is renowned for its natural beauty. The oldest colonial settlement in the New England region, the small town also has a rich history, vibrant arts community, and plenty of country charm.

A truly serene and homely stay. The space was spotless and beautifully maintained, offering complete privacy and comfort. I loved relaxing on the outdoor balcony, taking in the peaceful surrounds and listening to the sounds of the birds and cows — such a perfect country escape.
